My Wild Irish Dragon by Ashlyn Chase

5.0

I thought this book was AMAZING. I love firefighter romances. I love dragons. This combination is turning out to be one of my favorite things to read. Chloe is a dragon who was forced to leave her homeland. She's been trying to make her way in America, where she decides to become a firefighter. The tricky part to her training is she cannot reveal her dragon nature to humans, so she can't use her supernatural strength or let her temper flare. She has this adorable quirk that when she's frustrated (or feeling any strong emotion, it seems) smoke comes out of her nose. So having to compete with testosterone filled alpha-male Ryan brings out her competitive streak, along with a few other strong feelings. Ryan is a supernatural creature, too, and a legacy firefighter. He can't let his family down, so getting a job means everything to him. He also has a desire to settle down and get out from his parents' roof. Seeing in his head endears you to him quickly. When he meets Chloe, he's got a mix of emotions that make you just love him. There is also a darling cast of side characters, including Mother Nature, herself that add humor and depth to the story. It takes you through a gamut of emotions, even bringing me to tears at one point. I can't wait to see more from this series. It promises to be hot. A definite must-read for lovers of the genre. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
