Cry Wolf
by Patricia Briggs
Anyone else have a random reading pet peeve that you just can't get past? Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series came highly recommended. It's an offshoot of another series and starts with a great novella, that wet my appetite and pushed me to continue.
Cry Wolf the first full-length novel in the series was great, no arguments there and I'm happy I read it. The universe, the characters, the lore got me so excited... until I realized this series is 6 books long and it revolves around a single couple.
I CANNOT stand more than 2 books about the same couple (and even that is pushing it). If I'm reading a romance series I need the couple to resolve the issues they have in two books and live Happily Ever After. If a world is still worth exploring a new couple needs to be introduced. I can't stand manufactured dramas or external issues that basically drag couples through hell for several books, or worse a couple so I'll matched that it takes 3 or more books to figure their shit out. Its kinda sad but I can't see myself continuing this though the writing was wonderful and the universe quite intricate and well built
