I picked this book up for the first time while on a trip to Yellowstone back in 2014 amd haven't read it since! Still as real as I remember it.

Firstborn is told through first person by Maggie, a magpie who grows up along the Yellowstone border. She wants a difference in her life, and so when she meets an alpha wolf named Blue Boy, she takes the plunge and joins him. You then are sucked into Blue Boy and Maggie's journey throughout Yellowstone as the wolves form packs, have pups, fight for food, and survive the harsh winters.

Full of adventure, triumph, beauty, survival, and heartache, Yellowstone along with one of its wolf packs, are all over the pages of this incredible story.
