I loved following all of these wonderful characters through their growing up. I adored the relationships and their worries and troubles, and how they cared for each other so well within it. Reading in the modern times it's a bit hard to see

poor Jo end up married after a whole book of her avoiding it

, and a lot of the older ideas that kept society afloat were a little confronting to say the least (age doesn't matter if they love each other!!!). Otherwise it was a nice little slice of some lives well lived.
