TW: self harm
Before I go further into this review, I just want to say that I really did enjoy the majority of this book, but my mental state was not at its best while reading this. If you are currently going through a hard time in the mental health department, I would suggest putting off this book until you are in a better state.
I really enjoyed this story at the beginning, but I feel that Norah’s anxiety fed into my own, which was not awesome. There was also a somewhat sudden self harm seen in the book (chapter 17, if my memory serves me correctly), which was very triggering to the point where I was fast forwarding to get past it. There were also a few more mentions of self harm, but they were as bad as the scene previously mentioned (I think the chapters were 22 and 34, but I could definitely be wrong on those since I did not keep notes and they didn’t affect me as greatly as the one in chapter 17 did.) Towards the end of the book I was ready for it to end, but I definitely believe that this was because my own mental health has not been amazing, so listening to someone else’s was a double whammy on me. The romance was pretty adorable, so that definitely made me want to continue listening and finish the book.
