The Case for Jamie by Brittany Cavallaro
5.0

The Case for Jamie had its work cut out for it after I was disappointed by The Last of August. This book excelled in so many of the areas I was annoyed with last time and ended the series with all the feels.

The writing in The Case for Jamie was amazing. Charlotte and Jamie have both gone through a ton over the course of the series and their experiences haunt them. I really liked that they each grapple with making sense of what they've been through and what their relationship is to the other -- too many series put their main characters through horrific events and have them act like everything is fine. The alternating view points were great. There's something in Charlotte's narrative voice that I found extremely compelling and relatable. Yes she's a mastermind but underneath it all, she's just a girl. This shines through in her chapters and made the story a more interesting read.

I thought the mystery resolved relatively well but there were still some plot points that didn't quite make sense. I'll admit that I'm biased to rate based on feels and this book gave me all of them. The Case for Jamie cements this series as one I know I'll be rereading and loving all over again.
