Reviewing Palahniuk is so problematic, because he doesn't write stories for one to "like". He writes stories that challenge one's perceptions of reality, of norms, of decency, of morality. I've always thought that reading Palahniuk is the equivalent of slowing down for a horrible car wreck on the freeway. As a writer, he is exceptional, but these stories, for me, were particularly rough and I will admit that I didn't/couldn't finish. That being said, I may be in the mood to return to them in the future.
