Blame!, Volume 1 by Tsutomu Nihei

adventurous dark mysterious tense

4.0

I really love this one. There's not terribly much to read in this series: it's almost a series of art books. But oh, how Nihei's art stirs my imagination. I love these vast, artificial landscapes, Borges-like in their practical infinity, this world where land is but a memory, lonely, dreary, dangerous, but with little glimmers of hope, little patches of colour all the more vivid against the perpetual grey of the City. The setting is endlessly fascinating, haunting, mysterious, and I could explore it forever.
