Our Woman in Moscow by Beatriz Williams
5.0

This was my first Beatriz Williams book and I absolutely loved it. The story is told primarily through Ruth’s perspective in 1952 and Iris’ in 1948. The sisters have been estranged since 1940 when their lives took decidedly different turns. Now, four years after Iris and her family have presumably defected to the Soviet Union, Ruth must decide if she’ll help her sister escape the Communist regime to return home.

Sisters Iris and Ruth couldn’t be more different and I adored them both. The plot was gripping and kept me turning the pages way too late at night.

I was fascinated by Moscow, the Russian spy angle and the early Cold War days.
