So much to say about this beautiful book. The first being I am forever connected to my mother through it. I started it last year when she was in hospice care, and slowly realized the themes were hitting too close to home. So I put it down, knowing I would definitely be trying again. A little over a year since my mother has passed and something was telling me to pick it up. I quickly fell in love and began annotating like crazy. And when I learned Clare’s bday I immediately welled with tears. It’s also my mothers bday. May 24th. Just too coincidental. It felt like she was saying “I told you to just read it.”

Now on to the actual review. The writing was so beautiful and thought out. The way Henry’s time travel is explained makes you really feel like it’s possible. It’s heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time. And the common theme of grief is soooo strong throughout I couldn’t help but cry as well as laugh and scream out, and also facepalm a couple times due to the stupidity of men 🤣 overall this book was everything I needed it to be and dragged me swiftly out of the worst slump I’ve been in this year. Thanks mom 💜🪻
