I found it quite difficult to rate this book because I'm typically not into the core romance elements of this (knife play, masks), but the banter was so hilarious and adorable that I loved it anyway. I loved that Aly was so strong, that she worked out who he was but they kept up the game, and I loved that Josh balanced dominate traits with caretaking and love. There was no third act breakup, no miscommunication, and no unreciprocated feelings. I liked that Josh was all in from the start, and how unafraid he was of just being himself.
My biggest gripe was that Aly became a little annoying when around her family in the second half, and that whole plot in general dragged on a little too much for my liking. I also didn't appreciate thatJosh "switched on" his sociopathic tendancies to threaten the mob-uncle, then proceeded to get away Scot free. It felt disjointed from the rest imo .
