Degrees of Control
by Eve Dangerfield
*** Book Q & A***
* How did the book make you feel?: I loved the story!
* How do you feel about how the story was told?: Some of the scenes made me hold my breath, which is always good. I really appreciate this author’s writing style.
* What did you think about the main characters?: I always love reading about vegans (since I am one too), but the h Charlie was a bit too much of a paragon for me. She’s a teetotaler and vegan who NEVER loses her composure or emotes even when completely entitled to. A man broke into her house and she was sweet to him and asked him if he needed anything, WTF!? James is a self-absorbed ass who runs hot and cold. Though he was smoldering, he was emotionally immature. He used sex and alcohol to avoid confronting his suppressed emotions (concerning his underage rape) and it got a bit trying.
* Which parts of the book stood out to you?: The sex scenes and chemistry were OTC.
* What themes/tropes did you detect in the story?: friends with benefits to relationship, manwhore conversion
* What did you think about the ending?: I loved the ending, but then I read that there’s a second novella, essentially an epilogue, so of course I have to buy that. I hate paying full price for a novella, though.
* What is your impression of the author?: This was my first read by this author and I look forward to read more.

Triggers: underage rape, cheating
