Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor by Gabriel García Márquez
4.0

Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of the most famous and celebrated authors of Colombia. I can see why. This is not his best and it would be better to start with "Love in the Time of Cholera" or "100 Years of Soltiude" (for which he won a Nobel Prize) but this is not a book to miss. Originally published as an article in a newspaper recounting the true story of a shipwrecked sailor Marquez states in the opening pages that he didn't even want this published as a book however he is a man of his word and so here it is. It's nice to have other types of writing by Marquez available and I found this story very interesting.
