This has been such a fun series to explore. Being that there isn’t a true order to read these books in, I just jumped to the next book that Kindle recommended after I finished Queen of Hearts. Before Queen of Spades I had never read any of Jillian West’s books. Omegaverse books can be weird and it’s always hard to know if you’ll vibe with how the author writes them, the rules they follow in that universe, etc. I am happy to report that I liked her general world rules and look forward to exploring more of this author’s work.

Annika is a strong female lead. She’s independent and isn’t afraid to be bold when the need arises. This book deals with quite a bit of secret identities. Annika’s real name isn’t even Annika, it’s Sparrow. The one guy she’s allowed herself to get close to, Grady, since relocating to Vegas also isn’t who she thinks he is. He’s been tasked with finding her and bringing her back to her brother. But when he falls for her, he fakes his own death to stay with her. Chaos ensues, forcing Annika and Grady to run with the help of a High Roller customer and their pack.
