This book will need a reread from me. Wonderful setting and prose, though I found the plot difficult to follow at times. Marlon James style gives it the feel of this is an old story I should know, and also something brand new as it happening right here and now.
Tracker and Mossi's relationship and the later loss of Mossi and the mingi children was heartbreaking. Since we were so close to the end of the book (and also so far, it is a chonky book), I didn't expect that to happen.

Sometimes I found character motivations and reasoning a little hard to parse out, especially with such a large cast. I will be reading the sequel, however I might wait till the third one is out so I can read all three in one go.
