Enjoyable! Would have loved a little more worldbuilding though, about the world generally and the magic. Who has magic? What types of magic are there? What can magic do/what are its boundaries? More generally, there's a taste of political intrigue, but only insofar as it sets the plot in motion. Other than that, I know very little about the world.

I'll definitely read the next one, and I'm excited to see where the story goes!
