The Aquanaut: A Graphic Novel by Dan Santat

I received a copy of The Aquanaut: A Graphic Novel by Dan Santat from Scholastic Canada in exchange for an honest review.
I am a really big fan of Dan Santat's picture books and so I knew that I had to read The Aquanaut the minute I saw his name. And I was not disappointed at all. Dan Santat brings his slightly strange and marvellously weird characters to life in this graphic novel that features some highly intelligent and fun sea creatures working an old aquanaut suit. These sea creatures are in search of a marine theme park that Sophie's father and uncle started and is still run by Sophie's uncle and the business men who just want to make a profit without a thought of the well-being of the sea creatures that live within its walls. The band of sea creatures in the Aquanaut suit realize that they can not just watch idly by and with the help of Sophie, they set out to free the marine life. This was such a fantastic adventure graphic novel that will delight young readers and perhaps start conversations into marine parks and the ways in which they should be run that benefit - not harm - the marine life within them.
