The Wolf Road
by Beth Lewis
The first half of this book was super immersive and really well-done. It sucked me right in, from the narrator's voice, to the setting. I think that the strength of this book was the main character and her thoughts as she is alone in nature trying to survive. In the second half of this book, when she starts to deal with a lot more people and kind of 'rejoins civilization', as well as find out some of her secrets from her past/deals with trauma, I started to get a little less immersed. It wasn't bad, really, but it didn't have that same gripping feeling as the first half. An uneven book, but definitely Good and pretty unique! Also, not sure if Penelope and Elka are supposed to be like, in love love not just friend love but that's definitely how I read it! Loved their relationship.
