It's fun reading a novel set in your city. 

 

I don't think Skinnersville is real—it must be Springfield. Eugene Skinner founded Eugene. Maybe she didn't wish to offend the Springfield school system. 

 

This series doesn't feel "cozy." It has a level of unsettling, anxious realism you don't often come across in fantasy fiction (let alone cozy mysteries, based on the few I've read). Despite its Harry Potter references, it's quite unique and unpredictable. 

 

Baba Yaga's hut is bigger on the inside. It's a TARDIS. Or... Baba Natasha.
