The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence

4.0

There is no universe that I would not have eaten the apple if I was Eve. 100% every time. The idea of being cursed for wanting knowledge. Like I don't care. I will eat that apple again and again and again.

I'm so curious where this story is going, what it's trying to say. I love the conflict of who has the right to the library, the right to knowledge. And how society can only progress as long as there is an account of where we have come from.

I usually am more into character stories, and that's not absent here but I'm so invested in what is going on on the broader scale. I did really like the characters, I thought we could have had more time with them, with the friends. A bit more work on the character side.

And even though I opened this talking about Eve I would have rather kept our real world stuff out of it. I get Edgarallen is a fun name for a raven or Cooper Davidfield. The bible stuff was like well it might be a thing but it's also just a story. But I could have done with it being slightly more removed from us.

It was giving mandolorian season 1 episode 4, it was giving book of boba fett episode 2 it was giving the magician's nephew
Jkjk 😂👀

The end was crazy, I was so hooked at that 75% mark. Like things were fine and fun up til then but when everything started unraveling and coming together ohman I couldn't stop. I hope the next one lives up to this. I must know what is going onnnn
