Windwitch
by Susan Dennard
I actually liked this one much more than the first book, which showed promise w the worldbuilding and characters. Particularly I love how in the witchlands each “witchery” is complex and useful, but Iseult showing her progressed powers as a weaverwitch that could slice a man was great. Speaking of iseult, I love aeduan and iseult’s dynamic. Too many authors do not understand the assignment when it comes to enemies to lovers, tension has to exist yes, but it also depends on the slowly joining forces and trusting each other, I don’t like it when feels rushed or forced. aeduan and iseult are really enemies to lovers 200k words, slow burn, and found family parents to owl, I love it. While aeduan and iseult’s povs were the most interesting to me, I also enjoyed Vaness and Safi’s povs as well, but not so much with merik and vania half the time, where I found myself rather disconnected and disinterested in their povs.
