Newbery Challenge 129/412. So much better than I expected. I remember the movie being boring and sad, but I watched it when I was a kid. The book is just wonderful. Full of adventure with a rich narrative voice. I teared up at the end, but it was a good cry. I finished Sounder today too. That was sad without a point. Old Yeller is sad but there’s a reason it’s sad. It somehow makes the story richer. The audio is well done. Highly recommend.
