"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

This is my first sci-fi drama! Exploring the desert planet Arrakis made me want to jump into a stillsuit and ride a sandworm. This is the first book to movie adaptation that I actually love the movies over the book. The movies are where I fell in love with the planet and the fremen people. The book is definitely way more complex and chaotic. These are the two major differences in the book that I really didn't care for: Paul has a child with Chani and loses the child in the war. Paul's sister is killing the Baron.
I enjoyed a lot of the differences, but I am also glad the time skip didn't make it into the films.
