This was a charming story with likable characters and some quirky small town antics. The MMC, Major, was a really good guy and the MFC, Brynn, was down to earth and sweet. The dogs, Duke and Daisy, added some more normalcy and genuineness to the main characters. I found the part of the plot dedicated to Major’s father’s dementia to be the most emotionally charged. The epilogue featured a happy-for-now ending with a strong compromise theme, which is a favorite of mine.
