An interesting story but terribly written, so much monologuing to explain things which we should have just been able to see. Took a gamble on this and wanted a spooky Sep/Oct read but it was just garbage and I ended up feeling SUPER frustrated the entire way through. Also, be warned for lots of deadnaming and terrible treatment of trans folks (accurate to the time period but still unpleasant to read) - didn't earn all of the graphic
