This is a novel told in the form of notes on a refrigerator between a busy mom and her teenaged daughter. Though the reviews for this book were lukewarm, I figured I'd read it because it was short. And my opinion isn't going to differ from the majority. I feel like my heartstrings should have been tugged at more with this book, but they weren't. The message was hammered in with all the subtlety of a brick to the head, and I was left unmoved. There were touching moments, and the characters did seem pretty authentic, but in the end the genuine moments were drowned out by the fact that I felt pretty manipulated by the whole thing.
