Once started properly I could not put it down. The story of Lady MacBethad before she marries MacBethad. It is a fictionalised account of her life, with a few factual bits of information thrown in. As in the play she is scheming, but in order (in the most part) to protect herself from the scheming of others. It follows from her as a child, with a pagan mother and grandmother, receiving a prophecy about her destiny.  To her as a married woman to her 1st husband.
I felt the characters were well drawn and the pacing was done perfectly.
My only quibble was I wanted more information in the authors note at the end, but she has left up to us to research.
