Rules of the Game by James Frey, Nils Johnson-Shelton

2.0

For me, this book was better than book two but nowhere near book one. I did NOT agree with how some of the storylines ended, and did not see the points of certain character desths. It felt like the author had favorite characters and I just liked the wrong ones.

With that in mind, this may just not be a series for me. So other people may like how this all played out. From a non-storyline perspective, I liked how the fast pace maintained into this series conclusion. It made me feel the urgency as I followed along. I also continued to be pleased with how we have all these characters, yet I get none of them confused. Their personalities are all so clear! However, the description part of things, I felt, needed some work. I had to reread numerous paragraphs just to get an idea of how a space looked or how an action played out. These were the moments that really took me out of the book. By the last 50 pages, I was just reading to get the whole thing finished.

Would I recommend this series? Probably not. It just ended up not being what I wanted it to be.
