Not good. It's a Young Adult book about boring Senate politics. What Young Adult wants to read about that? If shallow and offers little insight into Padme's character. Any reader that suggest this book sheds light on who Padme is intellectually dishonest. The reader knows more about her dresses and hair than her character.
Credit to Kate for trying to explain why Padme (badly) presents herself in the films with weird voice cadences and 'accents.' It's just weak, though.
Like The Phantom Menace, way too much time is spent on boring Senatorial minutia. And, as noted above, dresses and hair styles.
I was hoping for more. What we get is a boring, shallow read with free highlights. This book offers no adventure, no excitement. It has no flash or glitz. I cannot recommend this book. It does not offer anything noteworthy to the Star Wars saga.
