mirabilia 's review for:
War and Peace
by Leo Tolstoy
I read this over a year, one chapter a day, and it’s really very very good as long as the author manages to stay out of his own text. Tolstoy is so observant of human nature and such a skilled writer, and uncannily good on the link between body and soul. I’d really like to give it 4,5 points, deducting a point for the tiresome flogging of dead horses in the philosophical chapters.
