This novel was pretty good. A few things annoyed me about it at first, especially Sunny's willingness to go along with the crazy stuff they were initiating her into without knowing what was going on, but that soon became unimportant as the story progressed and gave us an awesome glimpse into this rich world of juju intertwined with Nigerian culture.

I really loved the glimpse into Nigerian culture that we got, especially during the festival, and the way it was so diverse with so many different tribes, religions, etc. And the mentions of Leopard people from various other African countries were also awesome, showing a rich, diverse world-building both in the "normal" or Lamb world and in the Leopard world with all the magic.

I also like how the kids' juju education was nothing like the typical school experience or even like the "wizard school" depictions you might see in other fantasy novels. It was unique and made a lot of sense. The focus on learning and knowledge was also unique and excellent. (And stereotype-breaking as well!)

It's definitely a must-read for lovers of fantasy.
