Carol has a unique diesese. Every once in a while she falls into a death like coma and cannot be awoken. After her best friend dies, Carol falls into her coma and no one else knows about her illness except her husband Dwight, who decides to bury Carol and claim her money. But James Moxie, Carol's old flame who left her for the Trail, knows she's not dead and is coming to stop her from being put in the ground.
So this is about as scary as I get. There was this definite creepy vibe and old west vibe. So I'm kinda on the fence about how much I liked it. The creepy crazy crippled Smoke and Rot were my least favorite parts of the book, especially Smoke. I actually ended up a little curious about Rot and not of my questions got answered. The trail was a strange place and I'm torn about if i want to know more about it or not. I did like that Carol managed to save herself in the end.
