Notable Quote: “I don’t want a life without you in it.”
Broken in half from his admission, I could do nothing but wrap my arms around his lean frame and pull him close, “I’m still here, Joe.”
Brief Summary: Joey continues to struggle with addiction as his home life worsens, while Aoife fights to pull him back from the edge.
The Praise: I feel like I was crying for a good 85% of this book. Reading the events of Keeping 13 from Joey’s POV was so devastating, especially knowing what ultimately happens with Marie. I love Joey so much and the writing really brought him and his pain to life.
The Critique: Darren’s whole existence. If Darren Lynch has a million haters, I'm one of them. If he has one hater, it's me. If he has no haters, I’m dead. If the world loves Darren Lynch, I am against the world.
Final Thoughts: This book broke my heart and put it back together. 10000000/10.
