Very cute, easy, fast paced read.
This was a cute Asian sapphic story with a second chance trope (or 3rd chance?)
I really enjoyed the story and seeing the Korean representation. It allowed me to look up things about the culture that I did not know and learn about them. I love that I can expand my knowledge of other cultures by reading books like this. I think the story was cute and I enjoyed that the characters eventually recognized their flaws and worked on them.
This book is most single POV in first person but every once in a while we got a second POV but it was written in 3rd person. That did throw me off a bit and get a second go deal with. I’m not sure if this was to try and separate the voices a bit but I think they were unique enough that it wasn’t needed. Our main characters are in their late 20’s and to me come across a little immature but not in an overtly annoying way, they just acted a little young.
When I am reading a current day romance, I enjoy present day pop culture references but I know some people don’t. So if you do not like that type of stuff, then I would suggest to avoid this as it does have a lot of pop culture references in it. (Is this the first romance to mention Chappell Roan?)
Overall, I thought it was a cute book and enjoyed it.
