“I may not know a lot about relationships, but there are two things you need to understand. One, I’m a fast fucking learner. And two, you are relationship material, Stella Jane.” His heart rate thrums faster at my back. “You might be the only kind of relationship for me. Understand?”

I just finished reading this book and I have so much to say but words won't be enough. I am so glad that I stumbled upon this book while scrolling through my Goodreads recommendations because this story pulled at my heartstrings like no other. Stella was such a kind, compassionate and fragile character. She was going through everything bad that was happening in her life all alone and she desperately needed the support and stability that Beck eventually gave her. Beck was immature, whiny and angry in the begging but his character development was immaculate! I loved the way he stepped up for not only Emmy & Ruby but also Stella once he truly realised how lonely she was. Seeing them bond as a family and figure out their new situation was heartwarming!

"How could she possibly believe she isn’t a good person? It makes me want to shake some sense into her. She should see herself as I see her. Personified hope."

Despite the book being long, I did not once feel bored. The story had my attention from start to finish. The side characters too were very intriguing and I loved Elijah, Leo and Tabby the most! Emmy & Ruby were the highlight of the book and while I felt bad that these little angles lost their parents, I was so glad that destiny bought Beck & Stella into their lives because no one else could've loved and protected them the way these two did. The ending was kind of abrupt but the epilogue made up for it. I just couldn't get enough of Beck & Stella and their little family! So if you love kids in books and are craving a single parent/guardian book, this just might be the right pick for you. But keep in mind that the book is long and the pacing will feel slow, still it's worth it!
