In Kai the Dancing Butterly we follow two sisters who are making their way to the Winter Festival. The journey is long, so they make stops along the way, play with friends they meet and practice dancing.
Kai is small and worries that she isn't good enough for the dances her sister performs. Her sister disagrees and encourages her to try.
When they finally arrive at the festival, Kai must step outside her comfort zone and be confident in herself. Can you do that?
This is such a great children's book about believing in oneself and never giving up. I love the dynamic between the sisters as Kai worries she isn't good enough and her sister encourages and supports her.
The illustrations are wonderful, colorful and vibrant. I think this will appeal to children of all ages. The glossary is a must read as it lists the places the sisters stop and gives a short explanation of them. I also love the 'Message From the Author' page as it details a little of why Taiwan is called the "Butterfly Kingdom"
Definitely recommend this one for children and adults alike. I sincerely appreciate the publisher, author, and Feather & Dove Book Tours for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
