Un deuxième tome que j'ai dévoré !
Après un premier tome qui m'avait un peu déçue (j'avais eu du mal avec l'héroïne, l'univers m'avait paru flou et la romance était trop dark pour moi ><), j'ai quand même voulu tenter le deuxième tome parce que j'adore les livres de Rebecca Zanetti et si son autre série Dark Protectors fait partie de mes préférées aujourd'hui, je n'avais pas du tout aimé le premier tome ><
Et je ne regrette pas du tout d'avoir persisté car j'ai ADORE !
Ce deuxième tome est bien meilleur que le premier à mon sens : on retrouve Rosalie qui est avocate (et aussi qui tient une sorte de pension avec sept hommes ... Avec des passés intéressants =D) et l'une des meilleures amies de l'héroine du premier tome et Alexei (le frère de Cal qui est mort dans le tome précédent) qui a été arrêté pour un meurtre qu'il n'aurait pas commis et qui est prêt à tout pour obtenir sa vengeance !
J'ai absolument adoré leur première rencontre et l'évolution de leur relation par la suite (Oui c'est de la dark romance donc Alexei a des tendances stalker flippant très dominateur MAIS il a aussi des moments super mignons et romantiques (les chaussures et le mariage <3))
L'univers est plus développé ici et on en apprend plus sur l'utilisation des cristaux et ce que ça implique pour les réseaux sociaux et les grandes familles ! C'est super original et j'ai hâte d'en apprendre plus (notamment sur ce potentiel mystérieux groupe ...)
L'intrigue était intéressante et je dois avouer que même si j'avais vu l'identité du coupable venir et que la fin va un peu vite, j'ai adoré toutes les tensions autour de l'emprisonnement d'Alexei (J'AVOUE je m'attendais pas au dénouement pour cette partie là ><) et les attaques !
Bref, une dark romance avec une touche de scifi que j'ai dévoré sans modération !

A second book that I devoured !
After a first book that disappointed me a little (I had trouble with the heroine, the universe seemed vague, and the romance was too dark for me ><), I still wanted to try the second book because I love Rebecca Zanetti's books, and while her other series, Dark Protectors, is one of my favorites today, I didn't like the first book at all ><
And I don't regret sticking with it at all because I LOVED it !
This second book is much better than the first, in my opinion : we meet Rosalie again, a lawyer (and also one who runs a sort of boarding house with seven men ... With interesting pasts =D), one of the best friends of the heroine of the first book, and Alexei (Cal's brother, who died in the previous book), who was arrested for a murder he didn't commit and is ready to do anything to get his revenge !
I absolutely loved their first meeting and how their relationship evolved afterward (yes, it's dark romance, so Alexei has creepy, very controlling stalker tendencies, BUT he also has some super cute and romantic moments (the shoes and the wedding <3)).
The universe is more developed here, and we learn more about the use of crystals and what it means for social media and extended families ! It's super original, and I can't wait to learn more (especially about this potentially mysterious new group ...).
The plot was interesting, and I must admit that even though I saw the culprit's identity coming and the ending moved a bit quickly, I loved all the tension surrounding Alexei's imprisonment (I HAVE TO ADMIT I wasn't expecting the outcome for this part ><) and the attacks !
In short, a dark romance with a touch of scifi that I devoured without moderation !
