The Killer Collective by Barry Eisler

5.0

All the John Rain books through the years have been a wonderful journey. The Killer Collective is the latest and to this reader one of the most enjoyable. All of the main characters from Eisler's other stories have come together.

It is fascinating to read all of the different dynamics and interactions between the characters. They all have different ways of dealing with a 'problem'. I especially like that Livia is part of the story and she seems to integrate well.

The Killer Collective is a great title because of all the assembled characters and what they do for a living. In this story, they are brought together mostly by chance, then by bonds of respect and friendship. When Rain is contacted for a potential job, he refuses, the potential employer views it as a loose end. From there, it quickly escalates into a fast-paced thriller.

This reader would recommend The Killer Collective to fans of the Rain series (or any Eisler series) and to all thriller fans.
