This book surprised me, amused me, reminded me of uncomfortable scenes in my own life, and then made me roll my eyes. The last two chapters were a bit much. But I got a new impression of Wells as someone I would probably have liked as a person. He either paid real attention to his girlfriends' experiences or had a really good and emphatic imagination. Or both 8)
