The Valiant
by Lesley Livingston
I bought this book yesterday, started it soon after I got home, and then read it in one sitting, staying up until 1 a.m. If that doesn't tell you how gripping and amazing the writing is, then I'll elaborate. This book tells the story of a princess of a people from the British Isles, as they're now called. Fallon is a likable character, with a lot of drive - to fight, to be an honorable warrior. This was her attitude throughout the book, and I really admired it. She ends up becoming a gladiatrix, a female gladiator, and she's extremely kickass. The storyline of the book, is, as I said, gripping with some EXTREMELY shocking twists and turns in there that I didn't see coming AT ALL. The romance, by the way, is sweet and not a huge factor, but I liked it. Overall, this was a 5 star read, and I look forward to reading the sequel next year. Highly recommended!
