Ohhhh mannn this book was SO good!! I am totally invested in this trilogy. Set in Ancient Rome, in the city of Pompeii, The Wolf Den follows the story of Amara, a woman who once lived a life of freedom as a doctor's daughter, who's fortune changes drastically when she is sold as a prostitute in a brothel run by a harsh master. Amara is a strong woman, determined not to let her circumstances define who she is or who she will become. Alas, she is human, and Amara's character changes as survival and preservation turn into advancement, fueled with selfishness and manipulation. Amara's journey is set to the tune of love, sex, and power, set in the shadow of a notoriously famous volcano which is sparsely mentioned...but we all know what's coming. It's the vivid storytelling, incredible character development and the knowledge of impending doom that has made Elodie Harper's, The Wolf Den, a 5 star read for me. I can't wait to read the next installment!
