The Library Book
by Susan Orlean
Ugh. Boring. I wanted this to be a true crime-esque book about the fire and the suspected arsonist. Maybe 15% of the book is that. The rest is very scatterbrained. History of the LA library, history of book burning, modern library services, the author's childhood in libraries, etc., etc. I stuck with it about 70% when I just started heavily skimming. Apparently people love this book though, so maybe it's just not my kind of nonfiction.
