Orgullo y prejuicio by Jane Austen

This is the second time I read Pride and Prejudice. The first time I read it I was 17 years old, and I remember when and where I bought it. I was with some friends visiting a second-hand books fair and after a while I saw this book. I was wanting to read it since a few years ago, so I bought it. I read it during summer holidays and loved it! Now I'm 34. So many things have happened during those 17 years, therefore now I can see the story from another perspective. It's quite interesting to remember what I thought when I first read it years ago and what I think now. I remember liking Elizabeth because of her "liveliness", as Darcy says, her wit, intelligence and strong character. Such a badass heroine! What do I think now? The same. Of course she was blind with pride and prejudice, as well as Darcy, but she realises she's been wrong. She learns the lesson. And she tries to mend things. She will always be one of my favourite heroines along with Elinor from Sense and Sensibility.

Speaking about age, did you know that Jane Austen was 21 years old when she finished writing this novel? She completed the first version between 1796 and 1797 and was finally published in 1813.
