For some reason this one wasn't sticking with me. I kept trying to get into it - I really did, but I just couldn't get hooked on it or caught up in the story.

Basically the storyline is that Amy Hart is present at a shootout in the club that her and her husband run, which sees the death of three people - his assistant, Amy's best friend, and her husband himself, Riley Hart. 6 months later Amy receives a letter from Riley stating that he's alive and listing people he believes as suspects in his "murder". Riley is requesting Amys help in finding out who was responsible.

What follows is mash-up of chapters flicking back and forth between the present day and different memories in the past - not just of Amy herself, but of other characters in the story as well - many of them suspects on Rileys list.

It seems Amy is quite the naive character, discovering all these things about her husband that she was totally oblivious to when he was alive, yet everyone else either seemed to know or to have an inkling about.

Riley is portrayed as a bit of an a*hole to be honest - I don't really like the way his character was portrayed in what I did read of the novel.

As for the other characters it just keeps flicking back and forth too much and all the things going on just seem to be getting dragged out a bit too much for my like. I was feeling a bit like the story needs to just get on with it.

Part of me is curious as to what is going to happen in the rest of the story, but just not enough for me to really care about finishing it. Too long and too much plot dragging for me.

A great idea for a story but I just don't think its my kind of writing style.
