This one is hard to rate for sure. I wanted to give it 5 stars for the major twist alone, but then I knocked it down for the odd ending which unties some of those loose ends that we believed were neatly tied. Then I knocked it down a little more because I found myself annoyed at how slow the story took shape. But I also wanted to give more stars because it kept my attention and made me want to keep reading. I settled on 3 stars, but it’s more like 3 3/4 stars, maybe.
