This is a police procedural series set in WW2. I took my time reading this first novel in the series. I had seen the series on the shelves at a couple of my favorite indie bookstores. Plus, I had heard that The Soho Crime imprint had some pretty good books on the list. Billy, the main character, was a police detective in Southie before joining the army and getting what his mother hoped would be a desk job working for his uncle. I will read the 2nd book.
