It's definitely dealing with some interesting stuff, but there's a lot of 'telling not showing', particularly with character's emotions, which bothered me a bit, and the plot overall isn't very complex. I also personally was not fond of how they're charactizing Luke so far. But I am intrigued where they're going to go with this, so I'll probably seek out books 2 and 3 eventually!
