I really liked the first 3/4 of this cottagecore Bluebeard book.

It wasn't even the twist being unsurprising that bothers me so much as when it happened Ro no longer has her charming delusional fairy tale romance voice and Ash's backstory was explained in a few sentences and nothing more. It did such a marvelous job building up Ro's interpretation of what is happening that when her reactions were pretty standard it just dropped her into being dull for me.
