Special thanks to my girlfriend, who gave me this awesome book!
βLook around you at all the beauty, complexity, and variety of life. We live in a world of mistakes, governed by chanceβ - Sean B. Carroll
π§ My thoughts
This was a fantastic read! The book was concise but informative and gave systematic arguments to the topic βWhy is the world the way it is?β. The author successfully packed lots of information regarding anthropology, genetics, etc. in less than 300 pages. The book gave me a hopeful view of humanity, taught me a lot of new knowledge, and managed to convince me that the world was somehow built on chances and contingencies.
I totally recommend this book!
π What I like

- Cohesive, concise, systematic and convincing writing style
- Informative, interesting with a sprinkle of humor
π What I don't like
- Some examples at the beginning of the chapters were not so relevant and felt forceful
