Plum Island by Nelson DeMille

3.0

Parts of Plum Island were excellent, and some parts were so-so. But the overarching issue with this book was the fact the MC is a total !@#$!#@head. I can't think of a single redeeming quality, and I'm glad he blames himself because he did cause bad things to happen.

The writing was adequate, and the stories behind the Plum Island research facility and the history of the area were fascinating and made for a great story. The MC really did drag this down for me, and it almost feels like a missed opportunity with this novel. Oh well, can't win 'em all. Also, please let's don't pretend that Budweiser is actually beer.
